Camp Compass: Navigating Environmental Education

Each year, the Environmental Education Association of South Carolina brings together educators, environmental professionals, and community leaders from across the state for its annual conference, all united by a shared commitment to environmental literacy and stewardship. The 2026 conference will be held June 16–19 at the University of South Carolina Upstate and is expected to welcome around 100 engaged environmental educators. Participants will include classroom teachers, soil and water conservation district staff, park rangers, zoo and botanical garden interpreters, 4-H leaders, government representatives, private sector professionals, and others working to advance environmental education in South Carolina.

EEASC’s 2026 Annual Conference, Camp Compass: Navigating Environmental Education, is all about getting back outside and rediscovering why nature is such a powerful teacher. With a big focus on South Carolina’s state parks, the conference is designed to feel like a camp experience—hands-on, relaxed, and rooted in the outdoors. Attendees can expect plenty of time outside, practical sessions, and opportunities to connect with fellow educators while exploring how parks and natural spaces can guide and inspire environmental learning for all ages.

As South Carolina’s official affiliate of the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE), EEASC is connected to a network of 56 organizations across North America that support and strengthen environmental education. EEASC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and conference sponsorships play a key role in keeping registration costs accessible. Your support helps ensure that both formal and informal educators can take part in this high-quality professional development opportunity.

Your sponsorship not only supports environmental education but also provides your organization with significant visibility. Sponsors can receive prominent recognition through signage at the conference, in printed and electronic materials, and on the EEASC website and social media platforms, complimentary vendor exhibit table during our networking session on Thursday, June 18 and additional benefits based on sponsorship level. Contact Executive Director Keith Willoughby (director@eeasc.org) with any questions about sponsoring our 2026 conference.
