EEASC welcomed environmental educators from across the state to Camp Compass, its 2026 annual conference, held June 17–19 at The George in downtown Spartanburg on the campus of USC Upstate. The camp-inspired conference brought together nearly 100 classroom teachers, nonformal educators, park and nature professionals, conservation leaders, and environmental organizations for three days of hands-on learning, collaboration, and professional development.

Designed to reconnect educators with the outdoors, Camp Compass featured interactive workshops, field experiences, and networking opportunities centered on environmental education in South Carolina. Attendees participated in sessions on outdoor skills, nature journaling, conservation, sustainability, and environmental literacy while building meaningful connections with colleagues from across the state. The conference also celebrated the accomplishments of Green Step Schools teachers, mentors, and environmental education leaders through the annual EEASC Awards.
