The Palmetto Environmental Education Certification, South Carolina’s first environmental education professional certification, has been nationally accredited by the North American Association for Environmental Education. This two-year program, launched in 2018 by the SC Sea Grant Consortium in partnership with the Environmental Education Association of South Carolina, is designed for both formal and nonformal educators. PEEC is endorsed by the SC Department of Education for 120 renewal credits, valid for five years. With NAAEE accreditation, PEEC-certified educators are recognized nationwide, enhancing their professional mobility and impact.
