Service Project Mini-Grants Overview

EEASC members may apply for up to $1,000 in funding for innovative projects that support environmental education and environmental stewardship. Projects should design, demonstrate, and/or disseminate environmental education practices, methods, or techniques, and will serve as models that can be replicated in a variety of settings. Proposals for funding to support the development of new education curricula must clearly demonstrate the need for such curricula, and how these proposed curricula will be substantially different from already-existing resources.

  • Other expenses not captured above will be considered on a case-by-case basis (e.g., travel expenses, per diem costs, membership fees, registration costs, etc.)

Evaluation Criteria
  • Project impact (number of people reached or educated through the project)
  • Length of time applicant has been a member of EEASC
  • Availability of matching funding (either cash or in-kind)
  • Justification for budgeted expenses
  • Innovation
Reporting and Reimbursement Requirements
  • Unless other arrangements are approved by the EEASC Board of Directors, all grant funding will be issued as a reimbursement for expenses pending submission of a reimbursement request form and copies of receipts for eligible expenses. Reimbursement will be issued within 30 days of receipt of the reimbursement request.
  • Following project completion, applicants must submit a brief written report (up to 300 words) describing the project’s outcomes, successes, challenges, and lessons learned. Applicants must also submit three project photos suitable for publication (individuals featured in the photos must consent to their image being made public) with captions.
  • Project publicity (including social media posts, newsletter articles, etc.) should acknowledge the support of EEASC with the statement “This project is supported by a grant from the Environmental Education Association of South Carolina.” This statement and/or the EEASC logo should also appear on any project-related signage or publications which are purchased with grant funds.
